The 2014 female artist of the year of the Underground Music Awards Sonja Blade, made a stop to Time2Grind Radio on September 28th. Talking about her long run in the rap game, Sonja proved why she why she is a force to look out for. When asked about the current state of hip hop, Sonja shared that she always keeps her ears to the streets but never strays from her authentic sound. She also shared a blazing remix to the Jeezy & Hov “Seen It All” track .”A legend I said it , but never got credit” and “A couple chicks I had to chin check” were lines that opened conversation detailing real life scenarios.

Sonja is no stranger to the industry. With her previous record deal with Virgin Records, she worked with names like Dj Premier, Just Blaze, the Neptunes, Busta Rhymes, Nate Dogg and Carl Thomas and many more. “Her first single, ‘Look 4 Tha Name’ produced by Dj Premier was a smash hit. It introduced Ms. Blade to the entire world and Dj’s such as Kay Slay, Dj Absolut and Kid Capri”. After a break from the industry, Sonja is back with her own label, Top of Tha World Entertainment, pushing her own projects while mentoring and developing other artist.
